Tony Chase has been appointed to the Transition Committee for Mayor Lee Brown. He will also be a featured speaker at the Conference on Minority and Small Business Participation in the United States Telecommunications Markets sponsored by the Federal Communications Commission at Touro Law School on March 27, 1998.

Douglas Moll spoke on "Buyer's Rights Under Chapter 2 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code" at the 9th Annual Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act Conference in San Antonio on December 19th.

Tom Oldham published a letter in the January 12th issue of the New York Times, on "The Proposed Changes in Homestead Exemptions in Bankruptcy."

Jordan Paust organized a networking session on Affirmative Action, International Law, and Law School Admissions at the AALS meeting in San Francisco on January 9th.

Ira B. Shepard spoke at the Tennessee Tax Institute on December 4th and to the Austin Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs on December 11th on "Recent Developments in federal Income Taxation." He spoke at the William and Mary Tax Conference December 6th on "Recent Developments," and conducted a dialogue with Tax Court Chief Judge Mary Ann Cohen on current tax issues. On December 15th, he spoke on the various "flat tax" proposals to the Clear Lake Rotary. He will speak January 25th on "Recent Developments in Federal Income Taxation" at the ABA Tax Section meeting in San Antonio.
