SB-1159 Professions and vocations: license applicants: individual tax identification number

Governor Brown has signed into law a bill to get around the 1612/1623 provisions concerning state licensure, one that is quite comprehensive (it covers over 40 licensed occupations) and allows either SSNs or ITINs for those professions that had required such identification before a license could be issued—such as a medical license, which has caused some schools to deny admissions to DACAmented and undocumented applicants.
