Katya Dow
Professor of Practice and Supervising Attorney, Juvenile and Children's Advocacy Project
Katya Dow is the Legal Program Director for the Juvenile and Children's Advocacy Project (JCAP), based at the University of Houston Law Center, where she also is a Professor of Practice. Since creating a juvenile record sealing clinic at the Law Center in June 2015, Professor Dow and her students have sealed nearly 300 juvenile records in Harris County. Professor Dow also teaches an adult records expungement program and an ad litem representation program for dual status youth. Dow holds a B.A. in psychology (with department honors) from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where she was an editor on the Houston Journal of International Law. She previously practiced international commercial and insurance litigation in New York and Houston.
