Born in Washington, D.C., 1950, John A. Buckley, Jr. is licensed to practice in the state courts of Texas and Arkansas and before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts with high honors and a Bachelor of Science with high honors from the University of Houston in 1973, Mr. Buckley received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of Law in 1976. Mr. Buckley is a member of the Houston, Bay Area and Galveston Bar Associations, the Arkansas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, The American Association of Justice and is a Life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

Mr. Buckley was the President of the Galveston County Bar Association and served on its Board of Directors from 1997-1999. He served as the chairman of the State Bar of Texas District 5B Grievance Committee. Mr. Buckley is a Life Member in the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Rifle Association..

Mr. Buckley is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and practices in the area of commercial litigation. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center. He is also a NITA Faculty.
