Online Application for Judicial Externships

Please complete and submit this application once you have secured your placement. Your completed application will automatically be directed to our office.  If you are approved for program participation, the faculty instructor will email the Office of Student Services enroll you in the appropriate course, and you will receive a copy of this email.  (The faculty instructor will contact you directly via email if your application is not approved.) You are responsible for checking to see whether the appropriate course has been added to your course schedule.

Please note that the program's minimum GPA is a 2.33, and that STUDENTS DO NOT ENROLL THEMSELVES IN THESE CLASSES.  Also, be sure to pay your tuition by the official deadline so you are not dropped from the program.  (If you decide to drop your externship course at some point, please contact both Prof. Bonadero and Derrick Gabriel.)

Externship Credit Hour Availability:

  • Fall, Spring, & Summer I (entire summer): 2 – 6

(Note:  Until further notice, students seeking to earn 5 or 6 credits must complete the application form twice: Those wishing to earn 5 credits should enroll in the 2- and 3-credit courses, while those seeking 6 credits should enroll in the 2- and 4-credit coursesBe sure to select the correct semester, year, and number of hours from the drop-down menus.

While the Judicial Externship Faculty Supervisor can provide placement information, it is up to each student to contact the judge's chambers to apply and make arrangements for their Externship prior to applying for the course. You must provide complete/detailed information on your court and schedule below.

Do you understand that you must attend an orientation on Friday, 8/21, at 10:30 AM in Room 4 BLB  or you will not recieve credit for your Fall 2015 externship(s)? (Note: Those who have already participated in the Externship Program do not need to attend.)
