Professor Jacqueline Weaver and Energy Scholar Julian Cardenas participated in
Offshore Colombia Forum May 2013

Professor Jacqueline L. Weaver delivered a talk on “U.S. Offshore Regulation Pre- and Post- Macondo”, at the Offshore Colombia Forum in Houston last May 6, 2013 during the Offshore Technology Conference. The event was organized by the Colombia Texas Chamber of Commerce.
Several other experts in U.S. and Colombian offshore regulation participated also, such as Jodie Connor of Connors Consulting and Boris Navarro representing the Colombian National Agency of Hydrocarbons.
Prof. Julian Cardenas, Andrews Kurth Energy Scholar, moderated the Offshore Regulation Panel that discussed the new environmental and safety rules and the role of regulators and agencies.   

Mariana Avendaño, a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center's LL.M. program assisted in developing the program.

The event also had presentations on Supply Chain issues and New Technologies in ongoing offshore projects in Colombia.  More than 100 participants from around 60 companies doing business in Colombia attended the full-day program.
