LL.M. DEGREE OPTIONS


                   LAW DEGREE FROM A  U.S. SCHOOL


                   Lawyers who earned their law degree from a U.S. school must apply online to the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law
                   LL.M. program through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) website at www.lsac.org. EENR courses must account for 15 of the
                   24 credit hours required for graduation. Students interested in writing a paper have two options: (1) enroll in a seminar, or (2), with
                   the approval of a faculty adviser, write a thesis. Past LL.M. students have earned national awards for their work and have seen their
                   works published in the Law Center’s Houston Journal of International Law and in other academic forums.



                   LAW DEGREE FROM A FOREIGN SCHOOL
                   Lawyers who earned their law degree from a foreign school have this option:

                       Lawyers with strong backgrounds in EENR law and who possess superior skills in speaking and writing in English must
                       apply online to the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law LL.M. program through the Law School Admission
                   s
                       Council (LSAC) website at www.lsac.org. The 24 credit hours needed for graduation must include 15 hours of approved
                       EENR courses, as well as two required courses: Introduction to American Law and Lawyering Skills and Strategies.



                   JOINT J.D./LL.M. PROGRAM

                   The UH Law Center offers a joint J.D./LL.M. degree program which allows students to earn both degrees in 3.5 years (105 credit
                   hours). UHLC law students are eligible to apply for the joint J.D./LL.M program after the completion of 30 credit hours. Joint degree
                   students must meet all J.D. and LL.M. degree requirements in order to complete the program.

                   VISITING STUDENT OPPORTUNITY

                   J.D. students who visit the UH Law Center may be eligible to participate in the J.D. - LL.M. program. Students must be admitted to
                   the LL.M. program prior to their visit or during their visiting semester at the Law Center.
