UHLC's One Book, One Community Project

Just Mercy

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is thrilled to announce the inaugural year of UHLC’s One Book, One Community Project.  You can purchase a copy of Bryan Stevenson’s Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption for a reasonable price here or find at bookstores everywhere.

The primary goal of UHLC’s One Book, One Community Project is to provide students, staff, and faculty a shared encounter with race, ethnicity, and legal justice issues, engendering greater awareness and understanding as well as conversations, both informal and formal. With that in mind, we have selected as our inaugural book Bryan Stevenson’s Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption. This award-winning book tells the powerful story of Stevenson’s work as a lawyer representing death row clients in Alabama.

Please read the book before the spring semester; talk about it with your classmates, Law Center staff, and faculty; and watch for an announcement about an upcoming special event related to the book sponsored by the Diversity and Inclusion Committee in Spring 2021!

Happy reading!
