ACTIONS
On June 12, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals signed an
indefinite disability suspension against Thomas Webster Freer-Heeter,
39, of Houston.
On June 21, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals entered an
agreed judgment of public reprimand against Virginia Coop-Ullman, 66, of
Kent, Wash. On Aug. 1, 21, Coop-Ullman was censured by the Disciplinary Board
of the Washington State Bar Association.
On June 21, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals entered a
judgment of public reprimand against Edward Nguyen Le, 34, of Dallas. On
Jan. 11, 22, Le received two admonitions and was given two years’ probation by
the Disciplinary Board of the Washington State Bar Association.
On June 21, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals entered an
agreed judgment terminating an indefinite disability suspension and ordering
disability probation for Patricia Barthell Harris, 52, of Port Neches.
Harris was suspended on Aug. 21, 1986, and is reinstated as of June 21, 22.
On March 28, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals entered an
agreed judgment of probated suspension against Eric Slocum Sparks, 59,
of Tuscon, Ariz. On Dec. 19, 21, Sparks was suspended from the practice of law
for 30 days and placed on probation for two years by the Supreme Court of Arizona.
RESIGNATIONS
On June 11, the Supreme Court of Texas accepted the
resignation, in lieu of discipline, of Steven M. Carsey, 54, of Fort
Worth.
DISBARMENTS
On June 4, David Gates Caldwell, 50, of Austin was
disbarred by an the District 9-A Grievance Committee.
On June 13, Benjamin J. Durant, 51, of Houston was
disbarred by the 55th District Court of Harris County.
On June 10, Sheila Mashall Humphrey, 46, of Houston
was disbarred by default judgment by the District 6-A Grievance Committee.
SUSPENSIONS
On April 3, Vaughn L. Bailey, 47, of Fort Worth
received a one-year, fully-probated suspension effective April 1 from the
District 7-A Grievance Committee.
On Feb. 25, Kenton P. Armstrong, 45, of Corpus
Christi received a two-year, fully-probated suspension effective April 1 from
the District 11-A Grievance Committee.
On March 4, James M. Brooks, 44, of Houston agreed to
a three-year, partially-probated suspension effective May 1 from the 151st
District Court of Harris County.
On April 17, Nelson F. Cutter, 49, of Thousand Oaks,
Calif. received a three-month, fully-probated suspension effective April 1 from
the 327th District Court of El Paso County.
On April 15, Michael W. Johnson, 51, of Houston
agreed to a six-year, partially-probated suspension effective April 1, with the
first five years actively served and the remainder probated from the 269th
District Court of Harris County.
On March 29, John R. Riherd, 47, of The Woodlands
received a one-year suspension effective March 15 from the District 3-B
Grievance Committee.
On April 4, Roger D. Shipman, 57, of Denton received
a one-year suspension effective March 15 from the District 14-B Grievance
Committee.
On May 2, Adjua A. Umoja, 43, of Houston received a
four-year suspension effective May 2 from the 151st District Court of Harris
County.
On June 20, Daniel Estrada, 52, of Fort Worth
received a three-year, partially-probated suspension effective Sept. 1, with
the first three months actively served and the remainder probated from the District
7-A Grievance Committee.
On Feb. 5, Mike G. Hernandez, 56, of Houston accepted
a two-year, partially-probated suspension effective Feb 5, with the first month
actively served and the remainder probated from the District 4-J Grievance
Committee.
On May 30, Victor C. Hernandez, 50, of Robstown
accepted a three-year, partially-probated suspension effective June 1, with the
first month actively served and the remainder probated from the District 11-A
Grievance Committee.
On April 30, Alice E. Holland, 48, of Fort Worth
received a three-year, fully-probated suspension effective July 1 from the
District 7-A Grievance Committee.
On May 31, John L. Minor, Jr., 52, of Pearland
accepted a six-month, partially-probated suspension effective June 1, with the

On April 30, Phillip David Wainscott, 45, of Dallas

On Dec. 20, Bowen Wesley Sutton, 54, of San Antonio
agreed to a public reprimand from the District 10-B Grievance Committee.
