You may place orders for announcements and regalia rental online or at the Law Center Bookstore, which is located on the first floor of the Calhoun Lofts. We encourage you to use the online ordering for quick and efficient service.

February 13th - March 12th

Online ordering – You may order your regalia and announcements on-line at

March 13th – March 30th 

Ordering through Bookstore - you may order regalia through the Law Center Bookstore in-person, if you missed the online ordering deadline.

February 21st

Graduation Fair (12:00 pm – 5:00 pm) – You will be able to preview samples of the announcements and the regalia at the Law Bookstore.

If you are planning to order announcements, we recommend that you go to the Law Center Bookstore to view the announcements before ordering.

Please refer to the bookstore flyer included in this packet for more information on how to order regalia and announcements.

Note: It is important that you order regalia at your earliest; missing the deadline may prevent you from participating in the ceremony as it takes several weeks for regalia to ship.

Before April 16th

Graduate Survey

You must complete the Graduate survey 48 hours before picking up your regaliaCareer Office will email the survey to you and we will post on the graduation website prior to April 17, 2018.

April 17th – May 10th

Pick-up regalia from Law Center Bookstore.
(The bookstore is not open on weekends.)

May 1st – May 10th    Pick up line card and instruction packet in the Office of Student Services, Suite 30 TU-II.
Friday, May 11th

University Commencement Ceremony

4:45 pm Graduates line up for processional (Be on time!!!!!)

6:00 pm University Commencement for the Law Center starts

Obtain your line-up card from the Office of Student Services front desk, May 1st to May 10th (by 3 pm). Do not forget to bring your card with you to the University Commencement.  It will be numbered to enable you to find your place in the processional and as you proceed onto the stage to be hooded; you will hand the card to the person announcing names. In addition, the card is later used by the photographer to assist in identifying photographs.


The only honor cords worn at the Commencement ceremony are those special honor cords presented by the Order of the Barons to their members.


The University Commencement for the Law Center is scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2018 at NRG Arena, beginning at 6:00 pm, and lasts approximately 2 ½ hours. 


The Law Center Reception will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 8:30 – 10:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort on Kirby across from NRG Stadium.


There will be UH Bookstore personnel at NRG Arena to take your regalia after the ceremony or you may return it to the Law Bookstore no later than 5pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. A late fee will be charged for regalia returned after May 15th.  

You keep the hood and tam, the robe must be returned!


The University Commencement Ceremony is a hooding ceremony only; diplomas are not handed out at the ceremony.  Your diploma will be mailed to you later during the Summer after your final grades are posted, and the University has cleared your record of all academic and financial obligations.  If you have an outstanding balance with the University for any expense such as tuition, parking citations, library fines, etc.; you will not be certified as a graduate until it is resolved.

NOTE:           The name on the diploma and the mailing address is based on the information
that you submitted when you applied to graduate online:


A professional photographer will be taking pictures of individual graduates during the hooding ceremony.  The proofs will be mailed to the graduates using the mailing labels furnished by our office.

NOTE:          Guests will NOT be allowed on to the floor where the graduates are seated in order to take pictures. However, an area will be reserved for photographs in the audience seating area.
