OTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE
- DVD conversion – You can now have your VHS, Hi8, 8mm and VHS-C videos converted to DVD. DVDs can hold up to 6 hours of footage and have menus to allow quick access to multiple features on one disc, eliminating class time spent searching through a tape. Some current day DVDs and videos are write protected and cannot be copied, but most can still be copied for your classroom usage. All conversions happens in real time, so 6 hours of video footage will take 6 hours to convert to DVD. (Also, for 8mm, you will have to provide your own camera to play the medium.
- DVD/CD Copying – We can also copy class DVD/CDs for you. If you have lectures, clips, etc. that you use in class that you would like copies of, they can be created in a rather small time frame with our equipment. We have multiple burners available for your requests to insure a speedy turnaround.
- Streaming Video Conversion – You can now have your VHS, Hi8, 8mm, VHS-C and DVD video turned into Windows Media Video files, AVI files or Real Video files for placement on a website or for handout on CD-R. Just like DVD conversion, all conversions happen in real time. Subsequent copies take much less time.
- Videotaping – As faculty of the Law Center, you have access to our video equipment for taping guest speakers or lectures for viewing outside of class. These can be recorded on Mini-DV, which will need to be converted to VHS or DVD, or direct to 3” DVD. This can be arranged via e-mail.
We are adding new services constantly, so if you have a need, please feel free to e-mail, call or stop by at your earliest convenience for further information. Please report any equipment problems to Sbarker@Central.uh.edu. |
