Course Outline: An introduction to the law of torts, legal reasoning, and legal history. A survey of intentional, negligent and strict liability torts, with selective treatment of such topics as product liability, nuisance, defamation, and privacy law.

First Day Assignments: In your Franklin & Rabin Casebook, read pages 1-17 (stop at Section D) and also read pages 129-141 (to the end of note 5). We will discuss the cases in these readings: Hammontree v. Jenner, Harper v. Herman, and Farwell v. Keeton.
Final Exam Schedule: 12/09 1pm-5pm
