Course Outline: This course provides the forum for analysis of the fieldwork experiences a student encounters while working for a non-profit entity or governmental agency through class discussion, reflective writing, and small group meetings.
Course Syllabus: Prerequisite Info Cont'd: Must also enroll in Externship I or Health Law Externship I at same time. Once a non-paying position with a non-profit organization or government agency is obtained, student must then submit online application form to request instructor approval to receive academic credit. (Form can be found at www.law.uh.edu/clinic.) Signing up and being approved for Externship Clinic I will also automatically enroll you in Public Interest Workplace course. The latter will involve readings from text, performing exercises that complement the work being done in the field placements, and discussing issues impacting externships.
Course Notes: Approval of Instructor Required. MANDATORY ORIENTATION TO BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2009.
Course is designed to be taken CONCURRENTLY with Externship I or Health Law Externship I Clinic. Please do not ask Prof. Bonadero if you can do otherwise.
Prerequisites: YES 30 or more hours completed; GPA of at least 2.7; acceptance by a court to be an intern (for credit, unpaid)
