Course Outline: This course examines legally enforceable promises. The topics include contract formation, contract interpretation, the performance of contractual obligations, defenses to breaches of contract, and remedies.

First Day Assignments: Welcome to Contracts! For our first class on Wednesday, August 26, please be prepared to discuss the text on pages 1-2 of our casebook (Farnsworth, Young, Sanger, Cohen and Brooks, Contracts: Cases and Materials (7th ed. 2008)); the cases Hawkins (on page 2) and Bayliner (on page 4); and the notes and problems following these cases.
