Course Outline: Students will represent clients in the following civil practice areas: family (including domestic violence, divorce and custody), juvenile dependency and delinquency, probate, guardianships, bankruptcy and landlord/tenant. Representation will include court/trial appearances, mediation, negotiation, document drafting and case investigation.

Students must apply to the Clinic by submitting the online application at https://uhlc.wufoo.com/forms/m1263f5v0xj9tln/. Students should not attempt to enroll themselves in these courses via PeopleSoft: if you’re accepted, the Clinic Program Manager will enroll you via the Office of Student Services.

The Civil Practice Clinic has a classroom component that meets for 1 ½ hours a week over the course of the semester.

Students must work in the Clinic 50 hours per course credit hour.

Clinic students are invited to attend the Clinical Program group picture during Clinic I’s orientation.

There is no book required for Clinic II. All advanced reading materials are handed out in class.
