Course Outline: This course examines legally enforceable promises. The topics include contract formation, contract interpretation, the performance of contractual obligations, defenses to breaches of contract, and remedies.

First Day Assignments: Welcome to Contracts! For our first class on Monday, August 21, please be prepared to discuss the text on pages 1-2 of our casebook (Farnsworth et al., Contracts: Cases and Materials (8th ed.)); the Hawkins case (on page 2); and the notes and problems following the case.
