Course Outline: The United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG) contains rules that regulate the rights of buyers and sellers in connection with contracts for the international sale of goods. It is the first sales law treaty to win acceptance on a world-wide scale. With more than 60 Contracting States, the CISG is fast becoming the international sales law of the world. Using the CISG, students will create scenarios that emphasis some of the more prevalent features of the treaty. Using these scenarios, the students will then present oral arguments that meld the advocacy traditions of the common and civil law. The course will be highly interactive and the students will be required to work in groups.
