Hispanic Law Students Association

The Hispanic Law Students Association (HLSA) at the University of Houston Law Center is dedicated to promoting a successful representation of Hispanics in the legal profession and in the community. Among its objectives, HLSA strives to increase the number of Hispanic law students enrolled at the University of Houston Law Center, facilitate their transition into law school, assist them with their educational and professional goals, and to provide a mechanism for HLSA students to effectively communicate with the law school administration and Houston legal community.  To achieve these objectives, HLSA provides incoming students with a small academic library, opportunities to attend networking receptions, academic counseling, legal research seminars, guest speaker forums, and social gatherings with members from the legal community.  Comprised of fifty members, HLSA is dedicated to fostering more social awareness within the legal community regarding the importance of diversity.  Most importantly, HLSA is committed to ensuring that every member excels in academics and their legal careers.
