President: Karol S. Furmaga, J.D. Candidate ‘13
Karol S. Furmaga currently serves as the 2012-2013 President of the Federalist Society at the University of Houston Law Center. Previously, he served as a 1L Class Representative and subsequently as the Vice President of Communications his 2L year . Karol is also a member of the Blakely Advocacy Moot Court team, to which he was selected as both a speaker and writer, and is the Submissions Editor for the Houston Business & Tax Law Journal . Before attending law school, Mr. Furmaga attended Williams College graduating with B.A. in philosophy and a legal studies concentration in 2009. At Williams he was an active memberof the varsity tennis team and became a USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) certified professional shortly after graduation. Karol is a sports enthusiast and enjoys travelling, particularly to his native country of Poland, where he resided for seven years.

Executive VP: Stephanie Eberhardt, J.D. Candidate ‘13
Stephanie currently serves as the 2012 - 2013 Executive Vice President of the Federalist Society, and previously as a 2L Representative and a 1L Representative. She is also a Senior Articles Editor on the Houston Journal of International Law. Stephanie is also a member of the Health Law Organization, where she previously served as Secretary and 1L Representative. She has been an intern at both State and Federal District Court, and is currently interning at the United States Attorney's Office in Houston. Stephanie grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, and graduated from Rice University in 2006 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Business. She spent 16 years swimming competitively, and swam on her college team for her first two years at Rice. Stephanie enjoys spending her free time reading, crocheting, and marathoning television shows.

Secretary: Anna Jackura, J.D. Candidate ‘13
Anna currently serves as the 2012-2013 Secretary of the Federalist Society. In addition, she is a member of Board 51 for the Houston Law Review and the 2012-2013 Secretary of the Corporate and Taxation Law Society. She previously served as a 1L representative for the Christian Legal Society. She also spent the summer of 2012 interning at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals for Justice Jeff Brown. Anna grew up in Houston, graduated in 2011 from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, and gained experience interning with a private equity fund specializing in energy investment. Outside the Law Center, Anna is a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church and enjoys distance running and baking.

VP Finance: Leah Robbins, J.D. Candidate ‘14
Leah currently serves as the 2012-2013 VP of Finance of the Federalist Society. Additionally, she is a member of Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy and is currently interning in Institutional Compliance at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Before attending the University of Houston Law Center, Leah graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a BS in International Health. She has experience in numerous facets of the health system, ranging from lobbying for large health-related nonprofits in Washington, DC to public health research on neglected tropical diseases in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Outside of the Law Center, Leah is a marathon runner and knitting enthusiast.

VP Technology: Michael Quirke, J.D. Candidate ‘13
Michael currently serves as the 2012-2013 Vice President (Technology) of the Federalist Society and designed this website. Michael is also a VP of the Energy and Environmental Law Society, previously worked as a Research Assistant with the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources (EENFR) Center at the Law Center, and assisted in the creation and design of the EENR Center’s website. Michael has interned at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the environmental law divisions of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texas Attorney General’ s Office. Michael grew up in Houston, graduated from Texas Christian University in 2005, and served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army from 2005 to 2009. Aside from his legal studies and extracurriculars, Michael keeps himself busy with a web-based, educational non-profit on Climate Change he founded in 2011 with a group of renowned climatologists.

VP Speakers: Darren Braun, J.D. Candidate ‘13
Darren is currently a 3L at the Law Center. He is active in many student organizations aside from the Federalist Society, and is the vice president of the Second Amendment Society. He is also a member of the Order of the Barons, an academic honor society, and was a 2012 recipient of a Public Interest Interest Fellowship. He has interned for the Blair and Dauphin County District Attorney’s Offices in Pennsylvania, and is originally from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to law school, Darren spent several years as a police officer at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.

2L Rep: Drew Willey, J.D. Candidate ‘14
Drew currently serves as the 2012-2013 2L Representative of the Federalist Society. Prior to attending law school, Drew attended the University of Texas at Austin where he got a Masters in Professional Accounting degree and worked for a year as an oil and gas revenue accountant. Drew is interested in litigation and hopes to practice in either tax litigation or criminal defense. Drew’s reasons for joining the Federalist Society are largely faith-based Drew is currently the President of the Christian Legal Society at UH, and hopes to bring future Christian lawyers together in community as we navigate the challenges that law school brings.
