Invitations to participate will be extended to those competitors who have shown excellence in advocacy by placing in the quarterfinals or higher in any competition (except John Black) during the past two years.  All competing teams will take a case through negotiation and through a mock trial. The top 2 teams for each side (prosecution and defense) will then advance to the final moot court round.  The competition is closed research for substantive legal issues.  For the first and second place teams, a cash prize will be awarded.
