Aug. 7, 2012 -- The University of Houston Law Center welcomed members of the Foreign LL.M. Class of 2012 Tuesday with lunch and an orientation session complete with tips from recent graduates. This year’s class numbers 43 foreign-trained attorneys, speaking 14 different languages from 21 countries around the globe. Associate Dean for Student Affairs Sondra Tennessee outlined what they can expect while earning their graduate degrees and offered the support of the entire Law Center staff throughout the year. Recent grads, Saskia Mehlhorn from Germany and Nargiz Balakkishiyeva of Azerbaijan, gave the incoming class helpful information and practical tips for surviving -- and thriving -- inside the classroom and outside the Law Center. An Orientation Fair was held on Wednesday where the foreign students learned about services available through the various departments at the Law Center as well as fitness opportunities at the nearby Wellness Center.
