Aug. 1, 2012 – Patricia Gray, director of research and external affairs for the Law Center’s Health Law & Policy Institute, recently explained the ins and outs of the complicated health care reform act to a packed audience at the Liberty Lions Club.
A former state legislator, Gray explained the ramifications of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in June upholding most provisions of the Affordable Care Act, including the most controversial part requiring virtually all Americans to have health insurance or pay a tax. Gray spoke about how the insurance mandate would affect individuals and employers as well as how the ACA might impact Medicare and other health related issues.
“She was terrific and answered a lot of our members’ questions, not only during her talk, but she stayed well afterward,” said Jim Kerr of the Lions Club who invited Gray to the June 23 meeting. “She was nothing short of fabulous, gracious, informative and kind.”
