June 14, 2012 – Registration is open for an interactive commercial arbitration workshop that will cover the fundamentals of the arbitral process in both the domestic and international context. Sponsored by the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston Law Center, the course will be held Aug. 22-24.

Ben H. Sheppard, Jr., Distinguished Lecturer at the University of Houston Law Center and Director of the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center, will lead the four-day training. In addition to learning all stages of the arbitration process, participants will engage in mock scenarios in which they will be assigned roles as counsel and as arbitrators or judges and will either argue or deliberate and rule on various issues presented in the hypothetical scenarios.

The A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center will confer a Certificate in Advanced Arbitration Skills to participants who attend the course and secure a passing grade on a written exam to be administered during the last class session.

The training has been approved for 28 hours of CLE credit including 4.75 hours of ethics. Enrollment is limited and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
