Aug. 12, 2011 - The 258 members of the University of Houston Law Center Class of 2014 received an early introduction to campus during today’s orientation which included a campus tour, a luncheon, and welcoming remarks by Dean Raymond Nimmer and Justice Jeff Brown of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals.
"It's a joy to welcome the entering class," Nimmer said. Impressed with the incoming students' qualifications, he said it is intriguing to look out at the class and wonder what kind of lawyers they will become and what kind of contributions they will make.
Brown, a 1995 Law Center graduate, urged students to take advantage of their time at the Law Center. “This is a great law school,” he said. “Here in Houston, you have at your disposal, among this school's faculty, an assortment of the country's finest legal minds and a group of outstanding teachers. And in the square miles surrounding this campus you have one of the most vibrant legal markets in the world.”
