UH Law Center names new Alumni Association president

July 6, 2011 - The University of Houston Law Center announces Bill Jackson, president and shareholder of Jackson, Gilmour & Dobbs, PC, is the new president of the Law Alumni Association. Jackson, a 1992 Law Center graduate, will succeed exiting president Warren Harris.

As the new president of the Law Alumni Association, Jackson plans to reach out to more of the school’s 13,000-plus alums and to get them proactively engaged with the university. “Our Law Alumni Association Board is committed to providing programs and services that are interesting and helpful,” he said. “We are planning several programs that we hope will raise the profile and relevance of the alumni association to our members, including monthly social events, networking meetings, and CLE programs.”

Rounding out the board are Tom Hetherington of Edison, McDowell & Hetherington, LLP, president-elect; former Harris County judge Hon. Jeff Brown, vice president; Susan Bickley of Blank Rome, LLP, secretary; and Warren Harris of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP, immediate past-president. Directors for 2011-2012 are Damon Chargois of Chargois & Herron, LLP; Laura Gibson of Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall, LLP; Jim Perdue, Jr. of Perdue, Kidd & Vickery, LLP; Susan Sample of Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP; Susan Sanchez, counsel for ExxonMobil; Kris Thomas, law clerk for Judge Karen Brown; Laura Trenaman of Andrews Kurth, LLP; and Richard Whiteley of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP.
