Jan. 9, 2017 – Lawyers and journalists are teaming up to explore wide-ranging issues of sports violence during the 31st Law & the Media seminar on Jan. 21.
The program, "Violence in Sports — On the Field, Off the Field & in the Media," is co-sponsored by the Houston Bar Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Houston Press Club.
The seminar is free for law and journalism students and members of the media. Attorneys earn three hours of MCLE credit, including one hour of ethics credit.
The program features attorneys, journalists, medical and academic experts, and former professional athletes discussing issues in amateur, college and professional sports – from concussions and Title IX controversies to scandals and institutional reforms.
The seminar is 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Emilie Slohm Conference Center, South Texas College of Law Houston.
