Feb. 24, 2014 – The University of Houston Law Center ranked 30th among the nation’s top 50 law schools in the number of graduates hired by the 250 largest firms in the country, according to the National Law Journal’s annual “Go To” index.
Of the 266 graduates in the Law Center Class of 2013, 41, or 15.41 percent, were hired as new associates by a firm on the NLJ’s list of 250. Columbia Law School replaced the University of Pennsylvania Law School in the top spot, which Penn had held for two years straight.
In all, nearly 46,500 new graduates entered the job market in 2013 -- almost 2,000 more than the previous year, according to the American Bar Association.
The Journal polls the law firms and relies on the ALM Media database and independent research to compile the rankings of “Go To” schools.
