Dow talks about life lessons in latest memoir, will hold book signing in Houston
Jan. 7, 2014 – University of Houston Law Center professor David Dow will discuss and sign his latest book, “Things I’ve Learned from Dying,” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Brazos Bookstore in Houston.
Dow is an internationally recognized legal expert on the death penalty. He is the founder of the Texas Innocence Network and has represented more than one hundred death row inmates in their state and federal appeals.
In his latest memoir, Dow reveals how dealing with issues surrounding life and death move from a professional to a very personal nature. He faces mortality with fresh perspective as his father-in-law is diagnosed with cancer, his dog of 13 years becomes ill, and as Dow appeals to stop the execution of a client convicted of shooting a man during a home burglary.
“Things I’ve Learned from Dying” is published by Grand Central Publishing and has been officially released today.
