March 6, 2013 – The courtyard at the University of Houston Law Center was transformed last weekend into a tropical paradise for the second "Student Family Activity Day." The event brought together students, faculty, staff and their families for a day of luau-themed activities. Attendees joined the fun by wearing traditional Hawaiian leis. The March 2 event was a complete with games, hula lessons, face painting, contests of all sorts, prizes, food, and a live band.

Here is a message from Student Affairs Coordinator Vicky Crain, who organized the event:
"The Law Student Family Activity Day – Law Luau was also a great opportunity for students to interact with professors in a less formalized setting, which is always nice. It was great to get to hang out with family, students, faculty and staff. There was a lot of thought and effort put into the Law Luau and it truly showed. Everything from the prizes, to the food, entertainment, law student organizations' luau activities and professors' involvement was tremendous.
Thank you to the 'Law Student Committee for Less Stress and More Fun,' the Law Facilities staff, Office of Student Services staff, the Student Bar Association and all the student organization at UH Law Center. I would like to especially thank the UH Law Center Administration who sponsored this event for the Law Center community."
