Feb. 25, 2013 – The University of Houston Law Center moved up to 29th from 32nd in the "Go To" ranking of schools whose recent graduates were hired by the nation's 250 largest law firms, according to a survey by the National Law Journal.

Of the Law Center's 262 J.D. graduates in the Class of 2012, 13.4 percent, or 35, landed associate positions with the top firms. The largest firms hired 9.6 percent, or 27, of the 281 graduates in the Class of 2011.

Among the 50 schools most popular with the largest firms, 25 percent of graduates landed associate jobs, up from 22 percent in 2011. Hiring was not as robust as in 2010, however, when 27 percent of the graduates from the top 50 schools landed at the largest firms.
