Feb. 29, 2012 -- The University of Houston Law Center’s website improved its ranking to 24th among 200 law school sites nationwide in 2011, moving up for the third consecutive year in the study conducted by the Georgetown Law Library. The Law Center’s home page ranked 35th in 2010 and 52nd in 2009.
For the third year, all ABA-accredited home pages were “evaluated based on objective criteria” in an attempt “to separate the good from the great,” Roger V. Skalbeck, Georgetown’s Associate Law Librarian for Electronic Resources & Services, said in releasing the study.
The study assessed 24 elements across three broad categories -- Design Patterns and Metadata; Accessibility and Validation; and Marketing and Communications – to arrive at the rankings. The Law Center’s landing page achieved a perfect score in the marketing and communications category.
