The Houston Law Review continues to move up among the 1,600+ legal journals published worldwide. The Law Center’s flagship publication now stands at 38, moving up four slots from last year, according to the latest rankings compiled by Washington & Lee University. The new ranking puts the Law Review in the top 2.3 percent.
“Our improved standing among the world’s best schools reaffirms the top quality of our students and underscores their dedication to solid research and writing,” said Dean Ray Nimmer.
The national rankings are based on citations to the Law Review in the preceding eight years. The index measures the overall health and impact of a journal relative to its peers, and it influences which publications are pursued by the nation’s leading scholars.
“This is just one indicator of why the Law Center maintains such a strong reputation among other schools, scholars, practicing attorneys and prospective students,” Nimmer said. “Congratulations not only to the current editors and faculty advisers, but to everyone who has contributed to the Law Review over the years.”
