Prof. David Dow has been awarded the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen University Professorship in recognition of his scholarly work. “There is no one more deserving of this than David,” Law Center Dean Raymond T. Nimmer said in announcing the award and offering his congratulations. Dow, whose areas of expertise include contracts, constitutional law and theory, and death penalty law, joined the Law Center faculty in 1988. He is the founder of the Texas Innocence Network and the litigation director at the Texas Defender Service. Often working with UH Law Center students, he has represented more than 100 death row inmates in their state and federal appeals.
