Terence F. MacCarthy, widely recognized as the nation’s leading speaker on cross-examination techniques, will share his expertise at the Law Center April 23 in a special CLE edition of the Blakely Advocacy Institute’s Trial Craft Lawyer Speaker Series. “MacCarthy is a dynamic speaker who mesmerizes audiences,” said Prof. Peter Hoffman, “but more importantly, his cross examination techniques work! And they work in both criminal and civil arenas.” MacCarthy is the Defender Emeritus of the Federal Defender Program in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. For forty-two years he served as the Executive Director of the Chicago office. He is also the author of MacCarthy on Cross-Examination. The presentation, from 1-5 p.m., Friday, April 23, in room 144 BLB, is approved for 3.75 MCLE hours, including 1 hour of ethics.
