Aug. 26, 2013 – The University of Houston Law Center welcomes the Class of 2016 as the Fall Semester begins today. Members of the new class range from a radio show host to a patent agent to an Olympian. Here are some fast facts about the new 1Ls.

The incoming class is comprised of 182 full-time students and 33 part-time students. The group includes graduates of 79 different schools with more than 50 majors. Twenty-eight incoming students hold graduate degrees, including one Ph.D. and two MBAs.

Entering class members speak a total of 26 different languages. There are also numerous military members, including those in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. In addition, the Class of 2016 includes seven lifeguards, 13 Eagle Scouts, one police officer, a professional bowler, a yoga instructor, a third degree black belt and eight marathon and half-marathon runners.
