Immigration law expert to examine deportation’s aftermath

Professor Daniel Kanstroom kicks off HJIL’s fall lecture series on Oct. 16

Oct. 11, 2012 – The Houston Journal of International Law is hosting its annual Fall Lecture Series on Oct. 16 at the University of Houston Law Center. The event will feature Boston College Law School Professor Daniel Kanstroom who will focus on issues raised in his new book, "Aftermath: Deportation Law and the New American Diaspora." The lecture will be at 6 p.m. in BLB 109 followed by a reception in the Hendricks Heritage Room at 7 p.m.

The director of the International Human Rights Program at the Boston College Law School, Kanstroom is a leading scholar in the area of immigration law. He is the founder and director of the Boston College Immigration and Asylum Clinic, in which students represent indigent non-citizens and asylum-seekers. He also has extensive experience litigating immigration and asylum cases at every level of the U.S. legal system.
