Nov. 8, 2011 – The University of Houston Law Center is among 60 law schools cited in the November issue of The National Jurist for its 2011 “Best Value” honor roll. The Law Center is also recognized as a go-to law school for hires in law firms in Houston and Dallas.
The magazine’s selection process for the 2011 “Best Value” honor roll takes into account in-state tuition, debt, the percent of graduates employed nine months after graduation, and bar passage rate. The study is designed to identify a quality legal education at an affordable price, according to The National Jurist.
In addition, UH Law Center is recognized for its influence in local firm hires. Professor Ted Seto at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles conducted a survey of nearly 17,000 lawyers asking where they went to law school. “The single most important finding of the survey is that hiring is local – intensely local,” Seto said.
