Visiting judge reflects on international justice
A German professor and judge who served on the criminal tribunal for the former Yugoslavia at The Hague will discuss international justice in a lecture on Monday, Nov. 2, sponsored by the Law Center’s Criminal Justice Institute.
Prof. Albin Eser of the University of Freiberg and director emeritus of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Law will speak on “Challenges of International Criminal Justice: Reflections of a Judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia at The Hague.” Eser promises that he will answer a provocative question: is the adversarial system the best preferable procedure for handling complex international crimes?
The one-hour lecture begins in Room 209 BLB, and lunch will be provided.
