Limited financial aid is available to LL.M. students. A student applying for financial aid at
the UH Law Center must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
Foreign students seeking financial assistance are encouraged to research funding sources such
as Rotary International, Fulbright International, the Ford Foundation International
Fellowship program, and programs available through their home government.
TEXAS RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS
APPLICANTS WHO HAVE RESIDED AND HAVE BEEN GAINFULLY EMPLOYED IN TEXAS for 12 months before
enrollment are considered to be Texas residents for tuition purposes. Foreign nationals
who hold F-1 or any other temporary visa are considered nonresidents and are required
to pay the nonresident/foreign tuition charges.
If there are questions on residency classification, the applicant is responsible for raising the
issue with the appropriate administrative officials before or during registration.
