LL.M.

LL.M. Degree Requirements
LL.M. students at the Law Center must complete their program requirements within three years from the semester in which they begin their studies. Courses previously completed in pursuit of a J.D. degree cannot be credited toward the LL.M. program. Students must:
- Complete a minimum of 24 credit hours of approved courses and meet the GPA requirements of their course of study.
- Meet the thesis requirements – if any – of their specialized program of study. A thesis is required of all LL.M. students specializing in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law and Health Law. A thesis is optional for students specializing in Intellectual Property & Information Law; International Law; and Tax Law. There is no writing requirement for students in the Foreign Scholars LL.M. program.
- Complete a specified number of credit hours in concentration-related courses (if applicable).
- Continuously enroll in the LL.M. program during the fall and spring semesters until all degree requirements are met. LL.M. students also have the option of completing their degree with part-time studies over three years.
