Configuration for Wireless Network
Install
your wireless card drivers and control utility. In the control utility,
specify the network name or ssid as tsunami.

1. Click on start, settings, control panel, and double
click on Network and dial up connections
2. Right click your wireless card connection
and left click on properties.
3 . Highlight TCPIP and click on Properties.
4. Click on the advanced button.
5. Click on the tab DNS. Under DNS servers
in order of use. click add and add in the DNS Servers, 129.7.1.6
and 129.7.1.20. Then under append these DNS suffixes. click add
and then add in cougarnet.uh.edu and uh.edu.
6. Click on the WINS Tab. Under WINS addresses. click
add and then add in the WINS servers 129.7.1.200 and 129.7.32.200. Make
sure that the box enable LMHOSTS lookupun-checked. Then Check
enable Netbios over TCPIP.
7. Click OK to all of the dialog boxes and
then restart your computer.
8. Click on start, settings, control
panel, system.
9. Go to the tab Network Identification and click on Properties.
10. in the Name box, enter in your COUGARNET
user name, in the workgroup box type in COUGARNET.
12. Click OK, OK, and then restart your computer.

Install the VPN
client.

1. Right
click on network neighborhood/my network places, click on properties
,
2. if
it is not there, click add, client, client for microsoft networks. click
OK. Then remove windows family logon.
3. on
the tab that says Identification (the center one) the computer name
should be your user name, and the workgroup, COUGARNET.
4. Go
to the first tab Highlight TCP/IP for your network card and click properties,
5. Go
to the tab that says DNS, enable DNS. The host name will be your COUGARNET
user name. The domain will be cougarnet.uh.edu. Enter in the DNS servers
129.7.1.6 and 129.7.1.20 . The domain lookup, (the bottom enter) will
be cougarnet.uh.edu and uh.edu.
6. Go to the tab that says wins resolution. Enable wins resolution,
enter in the wins servers 129.7.1.200 and 129.7.32.200 .
7. Click
OK to all the open dialog boxes and restart your computer.
8. Install
the VPN
client.
