Configuring
Apple Mail or Microsoft Entourage
Apple Mail and Microsoft Entourage are e-mail clients that combines leading
support for Internet standards-based messaging systems, including Exchange
Server, with integrated calendar, contacts, and task management features.
This page will walk you through the steps to configure both.
* please note that you will need to be connected to the UH Network or be connected through the VPN to set up, or check your email using mail or entourage afterwards.

1. Open “Mail” you will be greeted with the account setup menu.
Or, if you have previously set up mail, click on Mail, Preferences
2. Click on the "Accounts button.
Click on the plus sign to add an account.
3. Under account type, select Exchange.
Account description put LAW
Enter in Your name.
Enter in your email address.
Click continue
4. Incoming mail server, Exchange.uh.edu
Enter in your COUGARNET user name
Enter in your COUGARNE password
Outlook Web Access Server: http://exchange.uh.edu
Click continue.
5. Outgoing mail server: Post-office.uh.edu
Click continue
Click continue
Click Done
6. Click on Mail, preferences,
Click on accounts, then click on the “mailbox behaviors” tab
Under permanently erase deleted messages when select “never” or your desired time to keep deleted items (they can not be recovered once deleted. )
Microsoft Entourage
1.
Start Microsoft Entourage.
Close the Entourage setup assistant if it comes up.
Click on Entourage , account settings

2. Click on New,
Enter in your email address
Enter in your COUGARNET user name
Enter in COUGARNET for the domain
Enter in your caougarnet password
Click the arrow to continue.
Click the right arrow again.

3. Check to be sure your name, cougarnet user name, and the domain is entered in correctly,
Enter in exchange.uh.edu for the exchange server
Enter in exchange.uh.edu for the ldap server

4. Click the right arrow until you have finished the setup assistant, (you can skip the test)
