Ilaria Bottigliero.

Redress for victims of crimes under international law.   Martinus Nijhoff, c2004.

KZ6785 .B68 2004

A revised version of the author’s doctoral thesis, this book begins with the assertion that redress for victims of crime forms a basic principle of justice. She explores the origins, evolution and practice relating to victims’ redress in domestic law, regional and universal human rights regimes, humanitarian law, the law of State responsibility, United Nations practice, and international criminal law including the International Criminal Court.  She then argues that the international community must now move beyond incomplete and fragmented approaches towards a much more comprehensive redress regime for victims of crimes under international law, and recommends means by which to enhance the coherence, effectiveness and fairness of victims’ redress.

John Charles Kunich

The naked clone : how cloning bans threaten our personal rights.  Praeger, c2003.

KF3831 .K86 2003

This book covers the scientific background of human cloning, the legal issues underlying the cloning debate, and proposed legislation to ban or limit human cloning as well as constitutional challenges to such legislation.  It points out that, if properly understood, cloning is essentially the same as other forms of assisted reproduction.  It addresses First Amendment protection for cloning research itself, as well as research as a necessary precursor to protected speech. Additionally, he addresses how reproductive cloning should be protected as a procreative liberty.
