Texas rules of evidence handbook. 9th ed. Jones McClure Pub., 2003- KFT1740.T49 This book, edited by Peter T. Hoffmann provides guidance and explanations on some of evidence’s most challenging topics through in-depth commentary and substantive analysis of the Texas Rules of Evidence for both civil and criminal cases. The updated version includes an analysis of Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts, and a discussion of statutory journalist’s privilege enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2009.

Ruth A. Miller. Law in crisis : the ecstatic subject of natural disaster. Stanford Law Books, c2009. K240.M55 2009 This book talks about the motion that taking natural disaster as the political and legal norm is uncommon, and that taking a person who has become unstable and irrational during a disaster as the starting point for legal analysis is equally uncommon. Nonetheless, Ruth Miller makes the unsettling case that the law demands an ecstatic subject and that natural disaster is the endpoint to law. Developing an idiosyncratic but compelling new theory of legal and political existence, Miller challenges existing arguments that, whether valedictory or critical, have posited the rational, bounded self as the normative subject of law.
