Featured Resource List

John H. Langbein, Craig Joyce, Renée Lettow Lerner, Bruce P. Smith. History of the common law : the development of Anglo-American legal institutions. Aspen Publishers, c2009.

K588.L36 2009

This book explores the historical origins of the main legal institutions that came to characterize the Anglo-American legal tradition, and to distinguish it from European legal systems. It contains both text and extracts from historical sources and literature.

Richard M. Alderman. Texas consumer law : cases and materials. 7th ed. Grail & Tucker, c2009.

KFT1430.A938

This book is designed to provide an understanding of Texas consumer law, with an emphasis on the DTPA. The approach taken is to present the material in a combination of traditional case analysis and problem solving. To maintain the continued importance of the book, even after the class has been completed editing of the cases has been kept to a minimum, and footnotes and citations have been retained whenever they are deemed important. Because most Texas consumer law is statutory in nature, this book includes a substantial statutory appendix.
