According to Washington & Lee University’s 2008 law journal
rankings, the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy is among the
top ten journals in the country in the category of Medicine, Health,
and the Law -- 4th overall. This is part of the continuously upward
trend for the journal since it was established in 2001. The Washington
& Lee rankings examine health law related journals worldwide and
rank according to several factors discussed on their website.
In the Washington & Lee ranking of Medicine,
Health, and the Law journals based on "impact factor," which is a ratio
of the number of times other journals cite to our journal compared with
the number of articles published in a ranking period, the Houston
Journal of Health Law & Policy is tied for first place, ahead of
Yale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and Ethics. The rankings can be

The Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy is
affiliated with the University’s of Houston’s Health Law and Policy
Institute, the #2 health law program in the country according to the
2009 U.S. News and World Report rankings.
