• Constangy, Brooks & Smith Diversity Scholars Award $3000 - Awarded to a 2L student with a minimum gpa of 2.7. Must show commitment to diversity in the community or in your school or work environment and personal achievements in overcoming challenges to reach your goals. Application deadline is November 16, 2009.
• Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association $1000 - Applicant must be a high school graduate from Tarrant County and a 1L law student. Application must be postmarked by December 1, 2009.
• Tax Executives Institute Scholarship $2500 - UH law student who is pursuing a curriculum which emphasized studies that could lead to a career in taxation. Submission deadline is 5pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
• Cameron County Bar Association Scholarship $3000 - Awarded based on financial. assistant to ensure that the student has the opportunity to further their academic career in the legal field. Application deadline is March 12, 2010.

• American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants $2500 - Topic: "The accounting and legal professions' ethical rules each address the three core values of independence, conflict of interest and confidentiality. Compare and contrast how the two professions address these concerns with particular emphasis on serving the public interest." Submission deadline is February 1, 2010.
• Foreclosure Scholarship Program $5000 - Topic: How to Solve the Foreclosure Crisis. Submission deadline is December 31, 2009.
• Embryo Law Essay Competition $2500 - Topic: A problem regarding embryo donation and adoption. Submission deadline is March 8, 2010.
• International Ombudsman Association $2500 - Topic: Arguing for a statutory privilege for organizational ombudsmen .Submission deadline is November 15, 2009.
• State Bar of Texas Tax Section $1000 - Topic: Any federal or state tax topic (including topics relating to tax practice ethical and professional standards). Entry deadline is June 1, 2010.
• American College of Consumer Financial Services (ACCFSL) $2500 - Topic: dealing with consumer financial services law. Submission deadline is before December 1, 2009.
• Entertainment Law Initiative Writing Competition $5000 - Topic: A 3000 word paper on a compelling legal topic facing the music industry today. Submission deadline is January 4, 2010.
• Intellectual Property Law Writing Competition 2009 - $500 - Topic: The Varying Treatment of Patentable Subject Matter. Submission deadline is December 15, 2009.
• Court of Federal Claims Bar Association $1500 - Topic: any that lies within the procedure, substance, or scope of the jurisdiction of the United States Court of Federal Claims. Submission deadline is December 31, 2009.
• Trandafir International Business $2000 - Topic: Any of contemporary international business or economic concern with a legal nexus. Deadline is February 1, 2010.
