Applying for Financial Aid
Law students interested in applying for financial aid at the UHLC should meet the following criteria:
- Be admitted to the Law program
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (See INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS)
- Be registered with Selective Services (if required)
- Be enrolled in at least 6 hours
- Make satisfactory academic progress
- Can NOT have any student loans in default
Students should begin the financial aid process as soon as possible after January 1 - even before admission to the UH Law Center. The first step is to file the 2009-2010 FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, listing the University of Houston's school code of 003652..
All aid programs funded by federal and state government agencies, sponsoring individuals, or the College may be changed or eliminated at any time. All financial aid programs and awards are subject to the rules and regulations of the federal and state agencies, the University's Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA), and the Law Center.
