Professor Flatt is the A.L.
O'Quinn Chair in Environmental Law at the University of Houston Law Center.
Professor Flatt is also the director of the Center for Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources at the Law Center. He is also advisor to the Energy and
Environmental Law Society at the University of Houston Law Center, and
faculty articles editor for the
University
of
Houston
’s Environmental
& Energy Law & Policy Journal.
Prior to coming to the UHLC in 2002, Professor
Flatt was Professor of Law at Georgia State University College of Law and head
of the environmental law program. He teaches courses in environmental law, the law
of hazardous waste, torts, administrative
law, natural
resources law, and international environmental law.
He was a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at Roger Williams University
School of Law in 2004-05, and he has served as Visiting Professor of Law at the
University of Georgia School of Law in the Spring of 2002, and Seattle
University in the Fall of 2001. He is also a regular visiting professor at the
University of Washington School of Law in the Summer where he teaches administrative law. For more information about these

Professor Flatt is a
member scholar of the Center for
Progressive Reform, and is a former National Board member of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. He has served on the Law School Admission
Council’s Test Development and Research Committee and has served on LSAC’s
division of lesbian, gay bisexual and trans-gendered issues. He is a member of the Stonewall Bar Association, and is an
advisor to numerous environmental organizations. To access more information
