Trisha Trigilio is a Senior Staff Attorney at the ACLU of Texas. Prior to joining the ACLU, Trisha litigated cases as an instructor for the Civil Rights Clinic at the University of Texas School of Law. Her work as a litigator has included challenges to imprisonment for debt, criminalization of homelessness, wealth-based pretrial detention, police brutality, arbitrary detention of families seeking asylum, and inhumane conditions in Texas jails, prisons, and family detention centers.
Trisha served as a law clerk to the Hon. J. Paul Oetken of the Southern District of New York. She also served as a law clerk to the court’s Office of Pro Se Litigation, where she advised judges about civil rights cases filed by residents of New York City and prisoners on Rikers Island. Trisha earned both her law degree and her undergraduate degree from New York University.
